NSX Stockbroker Examinations

Important Update on NSX Stockbroking Exams

Going forward, the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) will be holding stockbroking exams only once a year. The exams are typically offered in July each year, and candidates can apply to sit for the exam by completing the application form (provided below) and making the necessary payment of N$ 4180.00 per paper.

These exams are open to anyone in Namibia interested in pursuing a career in the financial services industry, with no minimum qualifications required.

Exam Papers:

There are four papers in total, which are:

1. Paper I: Rules and Regulations (Acts, Rules, and Directives)
2. Paper II: NSX Listing Requirements
3. Paper III: Investment Principles
4. Paper IV: Portfolio Management

Study Materials:

• Paper I: Study materials can be purchased directly from the NSX for N$ 865.00. An additional N$ 84.00 is required for any updates or amendments to the rules from previous years.
• Papers III and IV: No study materials are provided by the NSX. Candidates are responsible for sourcing their own study materials. However, a detailed syllabus will be provided to guide candidates on the topics to be covered.

Additional Training:

Since 2019, the NSX has also offered training on Listings & Continuous Obligations for interested candidates. For more information on these training sessions, please contact the NSX directly.

The NSX Membership examination will be held during 2025 on the below dates.

Applications to write the Papers should be handed to the information department of the NSX at 4 Robert Mugabe Avenue (Entrance in Burg Street), Windhoek on or before 23 May 2025 and must be accompanied by the examination fee or proof of payment. The exam fee is payable per paper.

NSX Stock Broking Exam Dates for rewriting: August/September 2025:

The closing date to submit a request to rewrite the exams will be within 5 days of receiving the results. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Applications to write the Papers should be handed to the information department of the NSX at 4 Robert Mugabe Avenue (Entrance in Burg Street), Windhoek before the closing dates, accompanied by the examination fee or proof of payment. The exam fee is payable per paper.

NB: In order to register to write the Stock Broking exams, candidate(s) will need to complete the Application form one (1) month in advance and return to the Information Officer at the Namibia Securities Exchange together with the proof of payment.
